How Long Do Results Last?

Chemical Peels
Chemical peels can be used to treat acne scars, uneven pigmentation, rough skin, wrinkles, fine lines, and sun spots/damage leaving the skin looking smoother, tighter, and move even in tone and color. A great candidate has dull skin with small wrinkles and many brown sun spots.
For best results we use trichloracetic acid (TCA) 30%. The peel removes the outermost layer of the skin and gets deep enough to stimulate collagen production. More superficial peels are unlikely to have meaningful or long lasting results but may still be appropriate in certain situations. The TCA 30% will burn for about 5-10 minutes and lead to large sheets of peeling for about 7-10 days. This has been a popular treatment with very high patient satisfaction.
Microneedling
Microneedling is a minimally invasive facial treatment that stimulates collagen and elastin production that results in tighter skin and improvement in wrinkles. It can also help with acne scars, skin texture, and melasma.
We currently use the SkinPen that uses many small needles to make small punctures in the skin. Multiple treatments are generally needed for desired results and maintenance treatments are also recommended. Patients may return to activities the next day. Redness is the most common side effect and may last for a few days. Dryness, stinging, and tingling are also reported.
